A sanctuary where Gau Mata is sheltered, fed and honoured — for in serving the cow, we serve all the gods.
“The cow is the mother of the world. Where she is cared for, prosperity and dharma abide.”
In the Sanatana tradition the cow, Gau Mata, is revered as Kamadhenu — the wish-fulfilling mother in whom dwell all the devas. To protect and serve her is one of the highest forms of dharma.
At the Goshala of Thirunaalvar Mutt we shelter native Indian breeds — the humped, gentle-eyed cows of our own soil — giving refuge to the aged, the abandoned and the rescued, so that not one may go to the butcher or wander hungry.
Daily green fodder, hay and clean water, with shaded stalls that keep the herd safe through every season.
Aged, injured and abandoned cows are brought in, treated by veterinary care and nursed back to health.
We protect indigenous desi breeds — Gir and their kin — preserving the sacred cattle of Bharat for generations to come.
Cow-based offerings — milk, ghee, curd and the sacred products used in our daily poojas and Ayurveda.
Cow dung and gomutra nourish the Mutt's fields and gardens in a natural, chemical-free cycle.
The cows are worshipped on festival days — Gopashtami, Mattu Pongal — as the mothers they are.
Your offering feeds and heals a cow that cannot fend for herself. Serve Gau Mata — feed her for a day, nurture her for a month, or adopt her care for a year.
Every rupee feeds a cow, heals the sick and keeps the Goshala's lamp alight. Give as your heart moves you.
